Tri-Valley Softball: Lady Dawgs fall to Jonathan Alder in Regional semi-final; finish season 16-12

by Gregg Meadows

Coach Brian Sterling’s Tri-Valley varsity softball team made their presence felt early in the D-III Regional semi-final game against Jonathan Alder, spotting the Lady Pioneers a quick 3-0 lead, then responding with a four-run second inning of their own to take the lead.

But that lead lasted only one inning, as Jonathan Alder got another four runs in the third inning, and never looked back in posting an 11-4 win over Tri-Valley, ending the Lady Dawg’s memorable post season run, that included the program’s first District championship trophy since the 2010 season.

Tri-Valley finished the 2026 season with a District title and overall record of 16-12.

The Lady Dawgs banged out 10 hits in the Regional semi-final loss, and were led by: Ally Peterson (2-3 with a double), Megan Kozusko (2-2 with a double and rbi), Gerran Matthews (2-3 at the plate), Larsyn Holdsworth (1-3 with a double and two rbi’s), and Ayla Hittle with a double.

Congratulations to Coach Brian Sterling and the Lady Dawg softball program on an outstanding season!
